Music has always been a large part of our household. Opa, my great-grandfather, built and played violas. This painting comes from a photograph of my older sister, aged 4, resting on a pillow while Opa plays "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof. I was inspired by the juxtaposition of age here--the youngest and the oldest living generation, enjoying something together.
